Rose was born in 1929 and grew up in Czechoslovakia with  seven siblings. In 1938, Hungarians ruled her hometown and slowly

instituted anti Semitic laws. In 1944, the Germans arrived in her home town and took Rose and her entire family to Auschwitz.

Rose and her two sisters  were able to smuggle themselves into a group of 300 women who were transported to a working camp.

Rose remained at the working camp until May of 1945 when she was liberated by the Russians. Rose and her husband Max

met in England and were married in 1950. A year later they moved to the United States. Today they live in San Diego with her 4 children

and 9 grandchildren.
