The mission of the Rotary Club of Chula Vista's Scholarship program is to promote the ideals of Rotary by recognizing students' superior academic achievement and outstanding service to their school and community.

We are pleased to honor this week ten scholars who were chosen from applicants at Castle Park, Hilltop, Chula Vista, Olympian, and Otay Ranch High Schools to receive this recognition.

Begun by Joseph Rindone in 1948 when he was President of our club and principal of a brand new Chula Vista High School, our scholarship program is this club’s oldest service project.  (In 1976, in recognition of his long service to the students of the Sweetwater Union High School District, to this Rotary Club, and to the City of Chula Vista, our Scholarship for Service was named in his honor.)

Students you will meet  have exhibited the highest potential for success in their post-high school education and for making future significant contributions to society.  They are amazing young people!
