This offer will end on April 30, 2021, so do not delay in contacting your club members about this award.  Your Club Foundation Chair, Lane Pearson, can access the Club Recognition Summary on My Rotary to determine who is eligible for this type of recognition.

  IN MEMORIAM

From Gary Bryant

It’s with great sadness that I let you know that Emerald Randolph who was the founding chair of Christmas in October, passed away at her home in Jamul on April 10th.  Emerald continued to lead the committee as Chair up to her passing.   Over 21 years we fixed up 123 homes leaving a lasting legacy in the community and the Chula Vista Rotary Club was involved from day one.

Emerald was a caring, devoted and generous individual and an inspiration to all.  She always put others before herself.  She will be remembered for the various programs she was involved in and the positive impact she had on the community.  Her legacy will continue to live on as will Christmas in October.  She will be greatly missed.  Please keep Emerald in your thoughts and prayers.

Emerald’s Memorial Service will be held on May 13th at 10:00 am at Greenwood Memorial Chapel, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego 92113.  We are going to find out if they are going to do a virtual as well since the Chapel only holds between 75-80 people.

Statement from the family of Sue Miller (wife of longtime Rotarian Jon Miller)
We are reaching out to let you know that our sweet mom Sue passed away peacefully at home last night.  She was surrounded by her loving family and Lottie the dog.  We held space with her throughout the night and wished her traveling mercies.  She will forever be our golden light, our beacon of love, and our beautiful wildflower.

Mom requested there be no service.  We will certainly let you know if there is anything we need and will update you in the coming months regarding how we might celebrate her life.  We are planning something that will involve her love of flowers in the future and we would love for you to participate at that time.

We are feeling your love and we thank you for respecting our grieving process.  We are together and loving on our sweet dad Jon.
In the meantime,  Mom would love to know that you are dipping your feet in the ocean, or reading a book, working in your garden, helping a friend in need, laughing with a loved one, baking cookies, sharing wonder with a child.  This would make her soul smile.

Blessings to you all,
Jen, Mim & Mandy
