Please park on the street as their parking lot will be needed for the food distribution line. The best place to park is on I Street on the south side of the church campus. Enter the campus through the driveway off I Street. What we will be doing: the first hour (8:00 – 9:00 am) the volunteers will be breaking down the pallets of food and putting the food into boxes/bags that will then be distributed to the families and individuals. The drive-up and walk-up lines will open at 9:00 am and continue until the food is gone. Please note this will entail standing for up to 4 hours and possibly some lifting. Who to contact when you arrive: Johnny Viloria, Project Hand Manager. He will coordinate what area needs your assistance. Water: Water will be provided. Take a break if needed. What to wear: Comfortable clothing and shoes depending on the weather that day. Wear your Rotary t-shirt if you have one. They will provide a colored safety vest to wear but if you have one please bring it. COVID Protocols/Practices: Masks are optional so this is an individual decision to wear one or not. |

Don Fipps has been a Rotarian for 17 years and is a member of the Rotary Club of Del Mar where he was president 2018-19. Don had been an Assistant Governor2019-2021 and Chief Aide to Rotary District 5340 Governor Dan Gensler. Del Mar is Don’s third Rotary Club, he was also a member of the Rotary Clubs of Wilkes-Barre, PA and West Sacramento, CA. Don is a native Californian born in Bakersfield. He attended California Polytechnical State University in San Luis Obispo majoring in Biochemistry and graduated in 1977 and was subsequently commissioned in the United States Army through ROTC. Don retired from the Army in 1997 as Lieutenant Colonel in the Medical Services Corps. He also has an MS in Biology from Bowling Green State University. After working for the American Red Cross in several locations, an independent blood center in Sacramento and finally the University of California San Diego Health, Don retired in 2018. Don married Donna McIlwain in 1975 after meeting at Cal Poly. Don and Donna have 2 children, Aaron married to Colleen with 2 children Burnie and Ben; and April, married to Ray with 2 children Charlie and Caroline. They raise Canine Companions service dog puppies. Don is a Paul Harris Fellow plus 8 and a member of the Paul Harris Society, Don and Donna, also a member of the Rotary Club of Del Mar, are level 4 Bequest Society members and level 1 Major Donors. |

Join us for a fun fishing expedition this summer. $50 per person. Bring your own rod or rent one for $27 if needed. Valid passport needed, as we may wid up fishing off the coast of Mexico. Open to the first 20 persons to submit a $50 deposit (cash or check made out to Gary Bryant). This expedition fills up fast and we've had to turn away people in the past, so act now. We'll be sailing on the 65-foot Vendetta II out of the H&M Landing (it's the last boat on the right at the end of the dock). Breakfast and lunch on the boat is included. Water, soda and beer are available for a cost, but you can bring your own drinks if you prefer. Ice chest space is available, but no large ice chests, please. |

McKenzie Richardson is the California and New Mexico State Lead for the nonprofit organization ReadyNation. Prior to joining ReadyNation in 2022, she worked in higher education and early childhood education in San Diego. She also researched national security and international affairs issues at think tanks in Washington, D.C. including the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the Wilson Center. McKenzie holds a Master of Public Policy, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Public Policy, and a Minor in Business from the University of California, San Diego.
