Al Harutunian III has been a San Diego Superior Court Judge since 1995.  He was born in the original Scripps Memorial Hospital on Prospect in La Jolla, before it became a condo.  He practiced law at Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps for 14 years, specializing in employment law.  He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College, and the school of law at U.C. Berkeley (with a cartoon character, Joanie Caucus of Doonesbury, as an official graduate).  Al has served as the Treasurer on the Board of Trustees of the San Diego County Public Law Library, and has served on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, the Crime Victims Fund, and the U.C. Berkeley Law School Alumni Association.  Al has been a member of Club 33 for over 26 years, and does frequent makeups at Chula Vista because the “Hello, hello, hello, hello” song is so catchy.  Al has served on Club 33’s Board of Directors for a total of more than 10 years, including a term as Treasurer.  Al and his wife Rebecca (a Deputy District Attorney) are the proud parents of two children.
