July 31st 2020 : "We all have a life-time guarantee" This presentation will introduce the history of race. How our earlier racist views biased categorization of people from different regions. There are no races, only the human race. In older age, we see how people of different ethnicities have different health outcomes. Although we all have a life-time guarantee, for some this is 7 years shorter than for others. The evidence for these outcomes points more toward social conditions rather than biological differences. The era of biological determinism is dead. Ecological and social factors influence our health more than we assumed in the past. Those that live long and healthy appreciate these factors we need to ensure that others similarly benefit from this knowledge.

Our Purpose
The Chula Vista Firefighter’s Foundation (CVFF) is a benevolent charity that believes in “service before self” as a guiding principle. Since 2004, it has provided citizens of Chula Vista and the surrounding areas with humanitarian aid, financial support, general assistance, education, community programs, and guidance in fire suppression careers. The CVFF Board of Directors is comprised of firefighters and local business leaders that meet year-round to plan fundraisers, organize events, and allocate donations. Because the CVFF operates as an all-volunteer organization, all funding received goes directly to community benefit to increase the number of people that can be helped.
Our Mission
To provide disaster relief during times of crisis, bring awareness to best fire and water safety practices, and improve the quality of life through comprehensive programming.
